West Tennessee Local is designed primarily as a public business and community directory.

Our general privacy principles are to:

• Collect only information reasonably useful to operating the Network;
• Be transparent about what we collect;
• Protect nonpublic personal information;
• Not sell personal information to third-party marketers;
• Give users reasonable control over their information;
• Distinguish personal information from public business information;
• Use aggregated and de-identified data whenever individual identification is unnecessary; and
• Take reasonable steps to protect home-based business owners from unnecessary publication of residential addresses.

2.Information You Provide

We may collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

• Claim or manage a business listing;
• Correct business information;
• Submit a business;
• Purchase advertising or paid placement;
• Contact us;
• Subscribe to communications;
• Submit an event, promotion, announcement, job listing, photograph, or other content;
• Participate in voting, recommendations, or reviews if those features are offered; or
• Otherwise interact directly with the Network.

This information may include:

• Name;
• Business name;
• Job title or relationship to a business;
• Email address;
• Telephone number;
• Mailing or business address;
• Billing contact information;
• Business-verification information;
• Service areas;
• Communications with us;
• Consent records described in Section 10; and
• Content you submit.

Payment-card information is processed directly by our payment processor and is not stored by West Tennessee Local.

3.Public Business Information

West Tennessee Local may collect and publish factual business or organizational information from public sources even when the business has not claimed its listing.

Sources may include:

• Business websites;
• Public social-media pages;
• Government databases;
• Public records;
• Licensing databases;
• Chambers of commerce;
• Public business directories;
• Mapping providers;
• Advertisements;
• News or community sources;
• Third-party data providers; and
• Independent research.

Public business information may include:

• Business name;
• Business category;
• Public business address;
• City and county;
• Public business telephone number;
• Website;
• Public business email;
• Hours;
• Services;
• Public social-media profiles; and
• Other publicly available commercial information.

The two are treated differently throughout this Policy.

4.Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Network, we or our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information.

This may include:

• IP address;
• Browser type;
• Device type;
• Operating system;
• Approximate geographic area derived from IP address;
• Referring website;
• Pages viewed;
• Date and time of visits;
• Searches performed;
• Categories viewed;
• Business listings viewed;
• Links clicked;
• Session information;
• Cookie or similar identifiers; and
• General interaction data.

We use this information to understand how the directories are used, improve the Network, detect problems, maintain security, and produce aggregate performance statistics.

5.Directory Interaction Tracking

West Tennessee Local may measure how users interact with business listings.

For example, we may record that a user:

• Viewed a business listing;
• Clicked a telephone button;
• Clicked “Directions”;
• Clicked a website link;
• Clicked a social-media link;
• Clicked a booking link;
• Searched for a category or service; or
• Interacted with another directory feature.

This information allows us to measure directory usage and provide businesses with aggregate performance information.

Likewise, clicking a business website link does not give West Tennessee Local control over or access to activity occurring on that business’s website after you leave the Network, except where separate tracking technology or integrations are clearly disclosed.

6.Location Information

The Network may use approximate location derived from IP address to help identify relevant counties or communities.

If a feature allows users to voluntarily share device location for “near me” functionality, West Tennessee Local will request permission before accessing precise device location.

Users may deny or disable location permission through browser or device settings.

7.How We Use Information

West Tennessee Local may use information to:

• Operate the Network;
• Maintain county directories;
• Create and update business listings;
• Determine Home County;
• Verify business ownership or authority;
• Process listing claims;
• Prevent fraudulent claims;
• Respond to correction requests;
• Provide customer support;
• Process paid services;
• Provide paid placement or advertising;
• Measure directory performance;
• Generate aggregate statistics;
• Improve search results;
• Improve site functionality;
• Detect fraud, abuse, or security threats;
• Send administrative communications;
• Send communications you have consented to receive;
• Maintain consent and transaction records;
• Enforce our Terms;
• Comply with legal obligations; and
• Protect users, businesses, and the Network.

8.Administrative Communications

If you claim, submit, advertise, or manage a business listing, West Tennessee Local may send communications reasonably necessary to administer your listing or purchased services.

These may include:

• Listing verification;
• Listing accuracy;
• Claim verification;
• Billing;
• Service expiration; and
• Renewal notices.

These communications are not marketing communications.

9.Marketing Communications

Separately, we may send communications about:

• Optional Network features;
• Paid placement;
• Opportunities to improve a listing; and
• Other optional products or services offered by West Tennessee Local or a related business described in Section 16.

These are marketing communications.

We send them only where permitted by law and where legally required consent has been obtained.

You may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe method in a marketing communication or by contacting:

Consent to marketing is never a condition of obtaining or keeping a free Home County listing.

10.Text Message Communications

West Tennessee Local sends text messages only to business representatives who have separately and affirmatively consented to receive them.

We do not send text messages to telephone numbers obtained solely from public sources or third-party data providers without the required consent.

Where applicable, we distinguish between:

(a) Listing verification messages — messages confirming business hours, contact information, or other listing information and containing no advertising or offer.

(b) Commercial messages — messages concerning paid placement, optional services, or other offers.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Revoking Consent

You may revoke consent at any time by replying:

STOP, QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPT OUT

or by another reasonable method, including:

West Tennessee Local honors revocation requests promptly and in accordance with applicable law.

Consent Records

West Tennessee Local may maintain records of consent and revocation, including:

• Date;
• Method;
• Applicable communication channel; and
• Wording presented when consent was obtained.

11.Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Network may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technology to:

• Maintain sessions;
• Remember preferences;
• Understand site usage;
• Measure performance;
• Prevent fraud;
• Improve functionality; and
• Analyze traffic.

Users may control cookies through browser settings.

Disabling cookies may affect some Network features.

Where legally required, additional consent or opt-out controls will be provided.

12.Analytics

West Tennessee Local may use third-party analytics providers to help understand traffic and use of the Network.

Analytics information may include:

• Pages visited;
• Session duration;
• Referring sites;
• Search terms;
• General device information;
• Approximate location; and
• Interaction events.

Where practical, aggregated or de-identified information is used for reporting and analysis.

13.Sponsored Content and Advertising

Businesses may purchase:

• Advertising;
• Enhanced visibility;
• Featured positioning; or
• Placement in a county directory other than their Home County.

Sponsored placement may be selected based on information such as:

• County;
• Community;
• Business category;
• Search term;
• Current page; or
• User-requested location.

This is contextual directory advertising.

West Tennessee Local does not need to sell or provide individual consumer personal information to advertisers in order to provide contextual directory advertising.

Businesses may receive aggregate performance statistics concerning their own listings.

14.We Do Not Sell Personal Information

We also do not provide consumer personal information to unrelated businesses so those businesses can independently market to a consumer merely because the consumer used the directory.

If our practices materially change, this Policy will be updated and legally required notice or choices will be provided before the change takes effect.

15.Information We Share with Service Providers

West Tennessee Local may provide information to service providers that help operate the Network.

These may include:

• Website-hosting providers;
• Cloud-infrastructure providers;
• Database providers;
• Analytics providers;
• Email and SMS providers;
• Payment processors;
• Mapping providers;
• Customer relationship-management systems;
• Security providers;
• Business-verification services;
• Contractors;
• Professional advisers; and
• Technology providers.

These providers may process information as reasonably necessary to provide services to West Tennessee Local, subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.

16.Related Business — Dreams To Goals Marketing

West Tennessee Local, LLC is affiliated with Dreams To Goals Marketing, LLC (“DTGM”), which provides optional marketing and technology services to businesses.

West Tennessee Local may provide DTGM with aggregated or de-identified business-listing performance information for purposes of analyzing directory performance and identifying opportunities to help businesses improve visibility and marketing.

This information may include aggregate statistics such as:

• Listing views;
• Search appearances;
• Telephone-button clicks;
• Website clicks;
• Directions clicks;
• Booking-link clicks;
• Commonly used search terms;
• Category activity;
• County activity; and
• Performance over time.

WTL does not provide DTGM with consumer:

• IP addresses;
• Cookie or device identifiers;
• Individual session histories;
• Precise location information;
• Consumer contact information;
• Payment information; or
• Other nonpublic consumer personal information for marketing purposes.

Search and interaction information provided to DTGM is aggregated or de-identified so that it describes the performance of a business listing, category, county, or directory rather than the activity of an identifiable individual consumer.

West Tennessee Local may suppress or redact search terms that appear to contain personal information before they are included in reports provided to DTGM.

DTGM may use aggregated or de-identified information to provide analysis, recommendations, or optional marketing services to businesses.

Declining DTGM services does not cause a business to be removed, downgraded, reordered, or otherwise disadvantaged in its Home County directory.

West Tennessee Local and Dreams To Goals Marketing do not sell consumer personal information to third parties.

17.Legal and Safety Disclosures

West Tennessee Local may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with law;
• Respond to valid legal process or court orders;
• Cooperate with lawful government requests;
• Investigate fraud;
• Enforce agreements;
• Protect Network security;
• Protect users or businesses;
• Prevent physical harm; or
• Establish or defend legal rights.

18.Business Transfers

If West Tennessee Local is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

19.Public Content

Information intentionally submitted for publication on a public business listing should be considered public.

Public information may:

• Be viewed by anyone;
• Appear in search engines;
• Be cached;
• Be shared;
• Be indexed;
• Be quoted;
• Be archived; or
• Remain temporarily visible after a change because of third-party caching.

Do not submit information for public display that you wish to keep private.

20.Home-Based Businesses and Residential Addresses

West Tennessee Local understands that many legitimate businesses operate from private residences.

An authorized representative may request that a residential street address be hidden from public display.

Where a listing appears to use a residential address, West Tennessee Local may withhold the street address by default until an authorized representative instructs otherwise.

West Tennessee Local may retain a withheld address privately where reasonably necessary to:

• Verify the business;
• Determine Home County;
• Prevent fraud;
• Determine service area; or
• Administer the directory.

The public listing may instead display the city, county, or service area.

21.Business Listing Corrections and Status

Business owners, authorized representatives, and users may report incorrect directory information to:

West Tennessee Local investigates reported inaccuracies and corrects confirmed errors within five (5) business days after verification.

Reports concerning business operating status are treated as priority.

Business Closure Determinations

Automated systems may identify a listing for review when information appears outdated, inconsistent, or potentially inaccurate, but automated systems are not authorized to independently designate a business as permanently closed.

A business may be designated as permanently closed only when West Tennessee Local has a reasonable factual basis for the determination.

A reasonable factual basis may include:

• Direct confirmation from the business owner or an authorized representative;
• An official announcement by the business stating that operations have permanently ended;
• Direct human verification by West Tennessee Local; or
• Multiple reliable and independent sources reasonably supporting the conclusion that the business has permanently ceased operations.

Information that may contribute to a closure review includes:

• Disconnected business telephone service;
• Returned business mail;
• Removal or closure of an official business website or profile;
• Government-record changes;
• Information concerning the business’s physical location; and
• Other reasonably reliable sources.

Where West Tennessee Local has reason to question whether a listing remains current but does not have sufficient evidence to confirm closure, we will not publicly state that the business is permanently closed.

We may instead:

• Display the date the listing information was last confirmed;
• State that the listing information has not recently been confirmed; or
• Place the listing into an internal review status.

Records Supporting Closure Decisions

West Tennessee Local may retain records supporting a permanent-closure determination, including:

• Date of decision;
• Sources reviewed;
• Verification efforts; and
• Other information reasonably relied upon.

Disputed Closure Status

If a business owner or authorized representative credibly disputes a permanent-closure designation, West Tennessee Local will promptly review the matter.

While review is pending, West Tennessee Local may temporarily remove the permanent-closure designation or replace it with neutral language indicating that the listing information is being reviewed.

Confirmed errors will be corrected promptly.

22.Your Personal Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law and jurisdiction, individuals may have rights concerning personal information West Tennessee Local maintains about them.

These may include rights to:

• Request access;
• Request correction;
• Request deletion;
• Request a portable copy;
• Confirm whether certain information is processed;
• Opt out of marketing communications;
• Opt out of legally defined targeted advertising or sale of personal information if such practices ever occur; and
• Appeal certain denied privacy requests where required by law.

23.Tennessee Privacy Rights

West Tennessee Local is based in and primarily serves Tennessee.

The Tennessee Information Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 47-18-3301 through 47-18-3315, effective July 1, 2025, provides qualifying Tennessee consumers with certain privacy rights in relation to businesses that meet statutory thresholds.

Those thresholds are substantial, and West Tennessee Local does not currently meet them.

Even where a particular statutory requirement does not presently apply to West Tennessee Local, we intend to maintain privacy practices consistent with the principles described in this Policy and will honor the privacy choices described in Section 22 as a matter of practice where reasonably applicable.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to reduce rights provided by applicable law.

24.Security and Breach Notification

West Tennessee Local uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect nonpublic personal information.

No Internet service, website, database, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

If West Tennessee Local becomes aware of a breach of system security involving personal information, we will provide notification to affected individuals and other required parties as required by applicable law, including Tenn. Code Ann. § 47-18-2107.

Where that statute applies, notice to affected Tennessee residents will be provided no later than forty-five (45) days after discovery or notification of the breach, unless notification is lawfully delayed because of legitimate law-enforcement needs.

Suspected unauthorized access or security concerns may be reported to:

25.Data Retention

West Tennessee Local retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate the Network;
• Provide requested services;
• Maintain business and transaction records;
• Resolve disputes;
• Prevent fraud;
• Enforce agreements;
• Maintain security;
• Comply with law; and
• Preserve legitimate directory records.

Retention periods vary depending on information type and purpose.

Business claim, verification, transaction, and correspondence records may be deleted or anonymized after an appropriate retention period when no longer reasonably necessary.

Aggregated and de-identified statistics may be retained indefinitely.

Factual public business information may remain in the directory independently of a claim or management relationship.

26.Artificial Intelligence and Automation

West Tennessee Local may use automation or artificial-intelligence-assisted tools to help operate and maintain the Network.

These tools may be used to:

• Normalize and format business information;
• Identify duplicate listings;
• Categorize businesses;
• Identify potentially outdated or inconsistent information;
• Compare information from multiple sources;
• Assist with search and directory functionality;
• Summarize publicly available factual business information;
• Assist customer service;
• Analyze aggregate directory trends and performance;
• Identify listings that may require human review; and
• Support other administrative functions.

Business Status Decisions

Automation may identify warning signs or inconsistencies suggesting that a listing should be reviewed.

These indicators may include:

• A disconnected telephone number;
• Returned mail;
• An inactive or unavailable website;
• Conflicting information across public sources;
• Government-record changes;
• Outdated business hours; or
• Other indications that information may no longer be current.

These indicators may cause a listing to be placed into an internal review process, but they do not by themselves establish that the business has permanently closed.

A permanent-closure designation may be made only when West Tennessee Local has a reasonable factual basis consistent with Section 21.

Where information is uncertain or conflicting, West Tennessee Local will not use automation to publish a negative business-status determination.

Human Review and Correction

AI-assisted output may be reviewed, corrected, supplemented, or rejected by West Tennessee Local personnel where appropriate.

West Tennessee Local may retain records concerning sources, verification efforts, and information reasonably relied upon when making material business-status changes.

Business owners and authorized representatives may report inaccurate information or dispute business-status determinations under Section 21.

Use of Nonpublic Information

When third-party artificial-intelligence or automation providers process nonpublic information on behalf of West Tennessee Local, we seek service configurations and contractual arrangements designed to limit use of that information to providing services to us.

West Tennessee Local does not intentionally use artificial-intelligence or automated systems to publish sensitive personal information merely because such information is discovered during research or processing.

Where practical, aggregated or de-identified information is used for analytics and reporting instead of information identifying individual consumers.

27.Children’s Privacy

The Network is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.

West Tennessee Local does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without legally required parental consent.

If we learn that such information has been improperly collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

28.Third-Party Websites

The Network contains links to third-party businesses and services.

Once you leave the Network, the third party’s privacy practices govern its collection and use of information.

West Tennessee Local is not responsible for third-party privacy policies or practices.

29.Do Not Track and Privacy Signals

Some browsers or devices transmit privacy preference signals.

Where applicable law requires recognition of a valid privacy preference signal, West Tennessee Local will take reasonable steps to honor it.

Because West Tennessee Local does not sell consumer personal information and does not currently use consumer information for unrelated cross-site behavioral advertising, some privacy preference signals may not affect current Network functionality.

30.Accessibility

West Tennessee Local is committed to improving accessibility across the Network and uses WCAG 2.2 Level AA as an accessibility reference goal.

Because websites, technology, and content change over time, this statement does not represent that every page or feature conforms to every WCAG success criterion at all times.

31.Changes to This Privacy Policy

West Tennessee Local may update this Privacy Policy as the Network, technology, or legal requirements evolve.

The revised Policy will display a new effective date.
