Bring a Directory to Your County

For chambers of commerce, cities, tourism boards and economic development offices who want their county’s businesses findable — without asking anyone to pay dues to exist.

The Problem

What Is Actually Broken

We scanned thirteen West Tennessee counties before we built anything. The same four failures turned up in every one of them.

Nobody publishes opening hoursNot one chamber, tourism site or Main Street page in thirteen counties. It is the single most common thing a person needs, and it is missing everywhere.
Almost everything is member-gatedPay dues or you do not exist. That leaves most of a county’s commerce invisible, including the businesses least able to pay.
The data that does exist is wrongWrong phone numbers, wrong addresses, hours listed inverted. People drive to locked doors and ring numbers that were disconnected years ago.
Coverage collapses outside the county seatThe smaller your town, the less likely you are to appear anywhere at all — which is exactly backwards from where the help is needed.

A business that lives only on Facebook is invisible at the moment somebody is deciding where to spend money. Not ranked poorly — invisible. Search engines index those pages badly, so the hours, the menu and the prices never reach the person typing “near me” into a phone.

What We Build

A Directory Your County Actually Owns

Its own name, its own domain, its own identity — not a page inside somebody else’s website.

Every business, freeWe list the whole county from public records, then invite owners to claim and correct their entry. No dues, no tiers, no pay-to-appear.
Hours that stay currentThe thing nobody else publishes. Owners maintain their own, and we chase the ones that go stale.
A live events feedAnyone in the county can submit what is happening this week — the part that makes people come back.

The Cost

What This Costs Your County

$0

Nothing, ever, for the county

We do not charge chambers, cities, tourism boards or the businesses inside the county. There is no sponsorship to buy and no budget line to defend.

Here is how it is actually paid for, because you should not have to guess. Businesses outside a county that want to reach customers inside it pay for a trade-area listing. That is the whole model. The directory itself stays free, and it stays free whether or not anybody ever buys one.
